Yes. The beef suet we source to produce our tallow is locally sourced and comes from a Halal-certified supplier. Halal sourcing is extremely important to us, and we ensure our tallow is sourced accordingly. A copy of our supplier’s current Halal certification is provided below for reference.

Yes. Our supplier has confirmed that the beef suet we source for our tallow comes from grass-fed Australian cattle. We source locally here in Victoria and work closely with our supplier to ensure we have accurate information about the origin and sourcing of our tallow.

Yes. All Tallow by Zainab skincare products are handmade in small batches in Melbourne, Victoria. From rendering and purifying our tallow through to blending, whipping and filling each product, our skincare is carefully made in-house with a focus on quality and consistency.

Tallow is a natural product, so slight variations in texture and consistency between batches are completely normal. Unlike highly processed or synthetic bases, tallow can naturally vary depending on factors such as the animal itself, seasonal conditions and temperature.Climate also plays a significant role. Your tallow may feel firmer during the colder months and softer during warmer weather, so you may notice a difference in texture between summer and winter.Temperature fluctuations during cooling, storage or transit can also occasionally cause a slightly grainy texture. This occurs when the natural fats cool and crystallise at different rates and does not mean there is anything wrong with your tallow.These natural variations are simply part of using a handmade, natural tallow-based product.We’ve written a blog explaining this in more detail.
