The Original Tallow Blend: Where It All Began

It’s wild to think it’s only been since October last year (2024) that I first started making my own tallow balm. I didn’t plan to turn this into a business at the time, I just wanted something genuinely good for my skin. I was sick of overpriced creams that didn’t deliver or were packed with filler ingredients. I wanted simplicity, but with purpose.

So when I started formulating my first tallow balm, my goal was simple: take the skin-loving benefits of beef tallow and elevate it with oils that complement it, not compete with it. What came out of that first batch was the original formula and to this day, it’s still my best seller.

Why Tallow?

Tallow is the foundation of this blend for a reason. It’s packed with vitamins A, D, E, K, and B12 yes, B12, which is rarely found in plant-based oils but plays a huge role in skin repair and regeneration. It mimics our skin’s natural structure, so it sinks in beautifully without clogging pores or leaving you greasy. It’s nourishing, healing, and incredibly effective for sensitive skin, dryness, and even eczema.

Castor Oil (Hexane-Free, Cold Pressed & Organic) – The Unsung Hero

A lot of people overlook castor oil, but I knew I wanted it in there from the beginning. It’s rich in ricinoleic acid, which helps fight inflammation and bacteria. It’s one of those ingredients that supports skin repair, especially for irritated or acne-prone skin. Bonus: it also helps the balm spread smoothly without making it feel heavy.

Golden Jojoba Oil (Cold Pressed & Organic) – Skin’s Natural Twin

Golden Jojoba oil is a no-brainer for any skincare product. It closely resembles our skin’s own sebum, meaning it helps balance oil production instead of disrupting it. It’s lightweight, non-comedogenic, and deeply hydrating. Basically, your skin recognizes it and lets it in without a fight.

Black Seed Oil (Cold Pressed & Organic) – The Underrated MVP

Honestly, I think black seed oil deserves way more hype than it gets. It’s loaded with thymoquinone, a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compound. It helps calm redness, support wound healing, and has even been shown to help with conditions like eczema and psoriasis. If you know, you know and if you don’t, try it and you will.

Natural Vitamin E Oil (D-ALPHA-TOCOPHEROL) – More Than Just a Preservative

I added vitamin E to help naturally preserve the balm, but its benefits go far beyond that. It’s a powerhouse antioxidant that helps protect the skin from environmental stressors, support cell regeneration, and fade scars or dark spots over time. Plus, it plays well with the other oils in the blend, boosting their shelf life and effectiveness.

Frankincense – The King of Essential Oils

Frankincense isn’t just a buzzword, it’s earned its crown. Known for its anti-aging and skin-regenerating properties, it helps with everything from fine lines to uneven skin tone and even breakouts. It also has a grounding, calming scent that I personally love in my night-time skincare routine.

Geranium – For Radiance and Balance

Geranium essential oil is the final touch. Not only does it smell absolutely beautiful, but it also helps brighten the complexion, tighten the skin, and regulate sebum production. It’s gentle, yet powerful, and ties the blend together both functionally and aromatically.

Every ingredient in this blend was chosen intentionally. There’s no filler just functional, skin-nourishing goodness. I still use it on my own skin every single day, and the feedback I get from customers continues to blow me away.
